With different names like Pontoon, Twenty One and Vingt-et-un, Blackjack is one of the widely played card game. This game is played between a dealer and a player, where the objective is to create a card hand with a total of twenty one or the possible nearest total as compared to the hand of the dealer.

Blackjack is basically a blend of luck and skills. The only skill that, apart from the good judgment, is card counting. This is a technique where player keeps a rough idea on the cards that have been drawn so far, so as to predict the probability of high cards and low cards to be drawn.

The rules are simple, both the player and the casino dealer are at first dealt with two cards. While the players enjoy opens cards, dealer gets one open and one close card. Player starts the game by taking more cards which is also called HIT. Player can Hit as many times he want to get a total of 21 or a total closest to 21. When the player is done with his game he must STAND.

Dealer can also HIT as many times he want, but when he gets a total of 17 or more he has to STAND and can not withdraw any more cards.

When a dealer or player gets a total of Twenty One the first two cards it is called ‘Blackjack’, and the dealer or player wins instantly, whereas if the player or dealer gets a hand with a total of more than twenty one it is called Busted.
